History of Naples Cay
Imagine what Naples Cay must have been like in the mid
1980s. A few lonely Australian pines and nothing but white
sandy beach along blue-green waters as far as the eye could
see. Tall coconut palms swayed in the breeze, as one of the
world's most beautiful sunsets slowly faded away.
Enter Equity Sound Development Group, Naples Cay's first
development team, whose vision was perfectly clear. This
would be the ideal location to build one of Naples most unique
beachfront communities. A place where residents could live a
relaxed, tranquil lifestyle...close to the very best things in
Naples, yet a world away, in a very tropical setting.
The onsite sales office opened its doors in December 1985,
welcoming those seeking the charm and intimacy of this unique
enclave. Westshore was the first building to receive its
Certificate of Occupancy in July of 1988, paving the way for The
Club, which received its Certificate of Occupancy in April of
1990, followed by the Beach
House in November 1990, and finally Seapoint in 1991.
Resort Development acquired the interests from Equity Sound
Development, and in 1996 Baypointe was the largest gem added to
the Naples Cay crown. Resort Development later sold the
remaining parcel to WCI, and the final building was
completed. The Seasons, received its Certificate of
Occupancy this past summer. This luxury high-rise is home to
only 43 residences and boasts floor plans ranging in size from
4,700 square feet to 11,000 square feet.
With the addition of The Seasons, Naples Cay now comprises a
total of 296 units. Enhanced lighting, lush landscaping, two
new tennis courts and
a larger gatehouse provide the perfect finishing touches.
